Chemtech Chemical Services, LLC maintains its own analytical testing facilities, including a primary analytical lab in our home office as well as satellite labs where necessary for routine on-site testing.  HACH methods and DR2800 spectrophotometers are utilized in all satellite locations and provide an extensive list of parameters that can be detected and/or quantified.  Additionally, our home office employs more specialized instrumentation, including:

  • Optical-Emission ICP:  Detection and quantification of close to 70 elements (detection limits vary).  Standard analyses are for common metals and cations.

  • Ion Chromatography:  Detection and quantification of various species.  Common anions, cations, amines, organic acids, and inorganic acids are routine analyses.

  • ESEM-EDAX:  Allows for observation and documentation of deposits and scales.  Additionally, the major elemental components of these materials can be determined and semi-quantified to allow for identification.  Elemental mapping can also be performed, demonstrating the distribution of elements and/or compounds along a surface.

These capabilities allow Chemtech to perform quality control testing on our own products, routine monitoring of treated systems, and customized analytical testing for various purposes.  Other capabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Corrosion Coupon Analysis:  Coupons installed by our technicians are delivered to the laboratory, where they are cleaned and the mils per year corrosion rates are calculated and recorded.

  • Biological Observation & Documentation:  A selection of optical microscopes is available for wastewater analysis, zebra mussel veliger detection, and other purposes.

  • Resin Testing:  Analysis of ion exchange resin for miscellaneous parameters.
