General Manager Scott Trahan founded the Geismar, LA-based specialty chemical company Chemtech Chemical Services, LLC in June 1998 with Eric Mistretta, who serves as Operational & Technical Manager.

Chemtech started with a focus primarily on Louisiana. However, by 2004, approximately 50% of Chemtech’s business came from out-of-state customers. Chemtech now provides services and chemicals throughout the United States and Canada, with future plans for expanding its business globally.

In November 2003, Chemtech opened a state-of-the-art blending/manufacturing facility located in Geismar, Louisiana. This allowed Chemtech to increase productivity and retain earnings by becoming self-sufficient.

On Dec. 31, 2010, owners Scott Trahan and Eric Mistretta transferred the assets of the company to Champion Technologies, Inc., a global and privately owned specialty chemical firm that primarily serves the oil and gas market. This diversified both parties and created an organization with the same private, family values but with technical expertise and infrastructure to serve even more markets and customers.

Today, the Chemtech Division of Champion Technologies, Inc. has more than 70 employees in Sales, Service, Production, Trucking, Technical/Engineering, Laboratory, and Administrative roles.
